What's the difference and how to do it.

How to wax or polish your car.
Waxing and polishing a car are really not the same thing as most people think. What is the difference you may ask.
Waxing: Applies only a thin layer of wax to make the surface of the paint glossy.
Polishing: Applies a think layer of wax to the surface and also includes very fine particles that "smooth" down fine lines and scratches called spider webbing. Polishes also remove oxidation from the paint surface so it shines like new. If the polish does not contain any wax, it general just called a rubbing compound and needs to be followed up by using wax.
buffer notes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure you use a "random" orbital buffer if you are not a profressional detailer.
If you use one that just spins in a circle, you could burn the paint if you don't keep it in motion when the heat builds up.
I use a small one for hard to reach places and a bigger one for larger surfaces. Cuts time to wax and polish your car by about 70%.
